Ace of Base is a Swedish pop group, founded in 1990 by the Jonas brothers, Jenny and Malin Berggren, with Ulf Ekberg. They became one of the key dance music groups of the 1990s and one of the most popular groups of the aforementioned decade.
With their mix of Pop and Dance melodies along with their catchy lyrics they managed to reach number one worldwide. His most successful album Happy Nation (1993) is one of the best-selling debut albums of all time, and was certified nine times platinum in the United States. The group released four studio albums between 1992 and 2002, selling over 30 million copies worldwide, making them the third most successful Swedish band of all time, after ABBA and Roxette.
Its original lineup was made up of Ulf “Buddha” Ekberg, and three siblings, Jonas “Joker” Berggren, Malin “Linn” Berggren, and Jenny Berggren. After the official departure of singer Linn in 2007, the band performed a series of concerts as a trio in Europe and Asia between 2007 and 2009, before Jenny left the band to launch her solo career. Jonas and Ulf recruited two new singers: Clara Hagman and Julia Williamson. The new lineup launched its first production called “The Golden Ratio” in September 2010.
In January 2015 they release a remastering of their 4 albums (The Sign, The Bridge, Cruel Summer and Da Capo) worldwide which are only available in downloadable format. Each disc has a bonus track.
